It was formally announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, with sales commencing in 2016 following an unveiling at the International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt in September 2015. The design of the F-Pace is based on the 2013 Jaguar C-X17 concept car.
The F-Pace is built on the same platform as the Range Rover Velar, and is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid option. It is also available with all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.
The police version of the F-Pace is used by a number of police forces in the UK, including the Metropolitan Police Service, the West Yorkshire Police, and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
