76WO006 Wolseley 18/85 Green/Black

76WO006 Wolseley 18/85 Green/Black

The Wolseley 18/85 was a British saloon car which the company manufactured between 1938 and 1948. It had a powerful 85 bhp, six cylinder engine with twin carburettor, overhead valve and was built on a 104ā€ wheelbase.

As colour schemes went, it was usually black, which together with its power, became a favourite with the Police, who used it extensively.

For this release of the four-door saloon however, we’ve bucked the trend and our 18/85 is painted dark moss green with black masking to the upper body, roof, wings and wheels. The interior seating is moulded in a contrasting pale green. Exterior trim is in silver including bumpers, wheels, hub caps and Ā door handles. Our model is registered MPJ 787. Note especially the unique Wolseley ā€˜Nightpass’ headlights which produced an anti-dazzle dipped headlamp/driving lamp arrangement.

By the end of production in 1948, just over 8000 Wolseley 18/85 had been made before it was superseded by the Wolseley Six.
